Reaction Steps

To a mixture of 3-amino-5-(2-methylphenyl)-1,5-dihydro-4H-pyrazolo[4,3-c]pyridin-4-one obtained in Step E (200 mg) and acetonitrile (6 mL) was slowly added a solution of N-bromosuccinimide (163 mg) in acetonitrile (2 mL) under ice-cooling. The reaction mixture was stirred overnight at room temperature, and the resulting solid was collected by filtration, and washed with acetonitrile. The obtained solid was purified by silica gel chromatography (methanol/dichloromethane) to give the title compound (127 mg).
