Reaction Steps

Pd/C (10%) is added to a solution of N-[4-oxo-4-[(2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl)amino]butyl]-carbamic phenylmethyl ester (1.02 g) in 30 mL methanol/THF (1:1). The reaction mixture is stirred under hydrogen at room temperature for 5 h. The mixture is filtered through diatomite and is concentrated to give the product (760 mg; 98%).
