Reaction Steps

To a solution of (3-acetyl-5-triisopropylsilanyloxymethyl-indol-1-yl)-acetic acid methyl ester (109 mg, 0.138 mmol) in THF (5 mL) and water (0.5 mL) was added 1N NaOH (0.69 mL, 0.69 mmol), and stirring was continued at RT for 16 h. The reaction mixture was partitioned between EtOAc and saturated aqueous NaHCO3. The aqueous layer was extracted with EtOAC (2×), the combined organics were dried (phase separator) and concentrated in vacuo to afford the title compound as a yellow wax. MS (LC/MS): 404 [M+H]+; tR (HPLC conditions k): 4.35 min.
