[1-(4-Bromo-phenyl)-cyclopropyl]-acetic acid (16.73 mmol) was treated with concentrated sulfuric acid (2 mL) in EtOH at 80° C. overnight. The mixture was concentrated and submitted to standard aqueous workup. The crude material was purified by preparative HPLC to afford the title compound.
