Methyl 2-{[4′-methoxy-(1,1′-biphenyl)-4-yl]-sulfonyl}-amino-6-(4N-tert-butylcarbonylpiperazin-1N-yl)-hex-4ynoate: N-tert-butoxycarbonyl-1,4-piperazine (8.14 g, 4.37 mmol) is coupled with paraformaldehyde (143 mg, 4.7 mmol wrt. monomer) and free acetylene 38e (1.48 g, 3.97 mmol) as described for compound 31a to give the title compound as a pale yellow syrup which soildified upon standing.
