Reaction Steps
Methyl 2-carbamoyl-2-methyl-3-[4-[2-(5-methyl-2-phenyl-4-oxazolyl)ethoxy]phenyl]propionate (1.17 g, 2.77 mmol) obtained in Example 27 was dissolved in methanol-tetrahydrofuran (1:1, 20 ml). 1N Aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (10 ml) was added and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hr. 1N Hydrochloric acid was added to acidify the reaction mixture, and water (50 ml) and ethyl acetate (150 ml) were added for partition. The organic layer was washed with saturated brine (50 ml), dried over magnesium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure to give the title compound (1.02 g, yield 90%) as a white solid.
