Reaction Steps
The product from Example 16 (3.8 g) in dry THF (80 ml) was treated with IM solution of BH3 in THF (38 ml). After the addition was complete, the reaction was heated at reflux for 1 hr, followed by cooling. The reaction was treated with saturated methanolic HCl (30 ml), heated at reflux for 1 hr and concentrated to afford a solid. Crystallization from Et2O/CH3OH afforded 4.1 g of desired product. Anal. calcd. for C13H20ClNO: C, 64.59; H, 8.34; N, 5.79. Found: C, 64.68; H, 8.49; N, 5.78.
