Methanesulfonyl chloride (8 μL; 1.2 eq) was added dropwise to a solution of 3-{2-[4-(2-methyl-5-quinolinyl)-1-piperazinyl]ethyl}aniline (D6) (0.03 g; 1 eq) in pyridine (0.5 mL). The reaction was stirred at r.t. overnight. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure, diluted with water (1 mL) and a saturated aqueous solution of sodium hydrogen carbonate (1 mL), extracted into dichloromethane (3×2 mL), dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated under reduced pressure. The crude was purified by flash chromatography, eluting with a gradient from dichloromethane to dichloromethane/MeOH (98/2) affording the title compound in 44% yield (0.016 g).
