15.0 g of Z-Asn-Leu-OMe are dissolved in 400 ml of t-butanol-water (9:1) and are hydrogenated in the presence of 2 g of palladium on charcoal (10 % Pd). After completion of the hydrogenation the catalyst is filtered off and the filtrate evaporated at 40°C. The residue is directly used further.
