Reaction Steps

To a stirred solution of the 2-((E)-5-[4-(4-bromophenyl)piperazino]sulfonylpent-4-enyl)pyrimidine (451 mg, 1.0 mmol) in THF (10 ml) was added Hydroxylamine (50% solution in water, 500 μl) and the mixture stirred overnight. The solvents were removed in vacuo, azeotroping with toluene (3×) to give the N-[1-([4-(4-bromophenyl)piperazino]sulfonylmethyl)-4-pyrimidin-2-ylbutyl]hydroxylamine (497 mg, quantitative)
