4-chloro-7-methylthieno[3,2-d]pyrimidine (74 mg, 0.40 mmol) and 2-aminoindan (270 mg, 2.0 mmol) in dry ethanol (3 ml) were heated to reflux under an argon atmosphere for 1 hour. The solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure and the residue obtained was purified by silica gel chromatography (hexane:ethyl acetate=1:1) to obtain the title compound (83 mg, 0.30 mmol) having the following physical properties:
