1-Benzyl-4-[2-vinyl-2-(4-fluorophenoxy)ethyl]piperazine 919 mg was dissolved in ethanol 20 ml, and palladium hydroxide/carbon 50 mg, 51.5% wet was added thereto, and the mixture was reduced for 8 hours under hydrogen pressure at about 3 kg/cm3. After the insolubles were filtered off, the filtrate was evaporated, and the residue was purified by NH silica gel column chromatography (hexane/ethyl acetate system), whereby the title compound, 717 mg, 77%, was obtained as a colorless oil.
