Reaction Steps
Diisopropylethylamine (28 mg, 38 μL, 0.22 mmol), acetone (6 mg, 8 μL) and NaBH(OAc)3 (23 mg, 0.11 mmol) were added to a solution of the TFA salt (403a) (46 mg, 0.073 mmol) in 1 mL of dichloromethane. The whole mixture was stirred until the reaction went to completion. The solution was diluted with ethyl acetate and washed with saturated NaHCO3, H2O and brine. The organic layer was dried over MgSO4. After filtration and concentration, the residue was purified on silica gel to provide methyl (3S,4S)-1-isopropyl-4-({4-[(2-methyl-4-quinolinyl)methyl]benzoyl}amino)-3-pyrrolidinecarboxylate (20 mg, 63%). MS (ES+): 446(M+1).
