The reaction procedure of Reference Example 17 as repeated except that crude 2-chloro-5-chloromethylthiazole was used in lieu of 6-chloro-3-pyridylmethyl chloride and that CH2Cl2 was used as the extractant. The procedure gave the title compound as a crude oil.
