Reaction Steps
(3β,5α,11β,12β,25R)-3-(t-butyldimethylsilyloxy)-11 -(trimethylsilyloxy)-12-acetoxyspirostane was deacetylated by treatment with lithium aluminum hydride in THF followed by catious addition aqueous ammonium chloride. The resulting title compound suffered 11 to 12 silyl group migration on silica gel, and thus had to be used unpurified.
