3-[3-(Piperidinomethyl)phenoxy]propylamine (2.98 g) and 2-oxo-4-thiono-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinazoline (1.78 g) (J. Heterocyclic Chem. 11 (5) p749 (1974)) were stirred in dimethylformamide (5 ml) for 5 days. The reaction mixture was filtered, washing through with cold dimethylformamide and diethyl ether. The filtrate was slowly evaporated to yield the title product as a white crystalline solid (1.38 g), m.p. 219°-221° C. (recrystallised from isopropanol).
