In a manner analogous to Example 1(a) starting with 2 g (9.7 mmoles) of 4-hydroxy-2-trifluoromethylbenzoic acid treated at 100° C. for 12 hours with 20 ml of allyl alcohol and 260 μl of concentrated sulfuric acid, give 1.4 g (59% yield) of the expected ester having a melting point of 82°-83°.
