tert-Butyl ((1S)-1-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-oxo-2-{[(2R,3S)-4-oxo-2-phenyl-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1,5-benzoxazepin-3-yl]amino}ethyl)carbamate (65a) (202 mg, 0.400 mmol) was dissolved in 5:1 (v/v) dichloromethane:trifluoroacetic acid (4 mL) and kept at ambient temperature for 1 h. The solution was evaporated and the residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate and extracted with saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate. The organic solution was dried and evaporated to afford the title compound (160 mg, 99%) as a yellow oil. MS APCI, m/z=406 (M+1). LC/MS: 1.60 min.
