Procedure

A solution containing 0.2 g of the compound of Step 1 and 0.09 g of Pd/C in 5 ml of ethanol is stirred at room temperature under an H2 atmosphere for 48 hours. The catalyst is then filtered off and the filtrate is concentrated in vacuo. The residue is chromatographed on silica gel (dichloromethane/methanol: 95/5), allowing the desired product to be isolated.
