N1-Phenylacrylamide (1.0 g; 6.8 mmol; from step (a) above) was added to a stirred solution of 3-benzyl-3,7-diazabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane (1.5 g; 6.8 mmol; see Example E above) in EtOH (7 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred for 10 h and concentrated to give the sub-title compound in a 97% yield.
