2-Hydroxy-1,1-dimethylethyl 7-benzyl-3,7-diazabicyclo[3.3.1]-nonane-3-carboxylate (from step (c) above) was debenzylated according to the method described in Example E(b) above and subsequently reacted with 4-(2-oxiranylmethoxy)benzonitrile (see Example A above) in accordance with the method described in Example 2 above to give the title compound in an overall yield of 88%.
