A solution of 2-(2,3-dihydrobenzofuran-7-yloxy)ethylchloride (0.38 g, 1.9 mmol), 3-(5-fluoro-1H-indol-3-yl)propylamine (0.93 g, 4.8 mmol), triethylamnine (0.48 g, 4.8 mmol) in anhydrous DMSO (20 ml) was allowed to stir at 90° C. for 12 hours. The mixture was poured into water (100 ml) and extracted with methylene chloride (3×100 ml). The organic layer was washed with water (3×150 ml), dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered and the solvent was removed under vacuum. Chromatography (10% methanol-methylene chloride plus ammonium hydroxide) afforded 0.52 g (77%) of product as a yellow oil.
