Reaction Steps
Ester 1-8 (365 mg, 0.69 mmol) was dissolved in CH2Cl2 (3.5 mL), then TFA (3.5 mL) was added. After 5 h the reaction mixture was concentrated, azeotroped with toluene, then purified by sequential flash chromatography (silica, 22:20:1:1 EtOAc/EtOH/H2O/NH4OH, then silica, 4:1:1 CH2Cl2/MeOH/HOAc, then 7:1:1 CH2Cl2/MeOH/HOAc), providing 1-9 as a white solid.
