Procedure
Subsequent to addition of 455 mg of 2-methyl-isothiourea sulfate to 33 ml of a 0.1N aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide under ice cooling, 600 mg of the 6-aminomethyl-5-chlorouracil obtained in Example 22 were added, followed by heating for 2 hours at 80° C. under stirring. After thereaction mixture was allowed to cool down, a crystallized matter was collected by filtration and washed with 2N hydrochloric acid, whereby 287 mg of the title compound were obtained (yield: 33%).
