Using 81.1 g (0.46 mol) of p-tert-butoxystyrene and 4.6 g (0.04 mol) of styrene as starting materials, polymerization reaction and after-treatments were carried out according to the procedure of (1) of Preparation Example 1 to give 77.1 g of poly(p-tert-butoxystyrene/styrene) as white powdery crystal. P-tert-butoxystyrene unit/styrene unit molar ratio in the polymer≈92:8 (1H NMR). Mw≈20,000 (GPC with polystyrene calibration).
