Reaction Steps

To a solution of 1.364 g (2.97 mmol) of the product from Example 5 in 10 mL of dichloromethane was added 10 mL of trifluoroacetic acid and the mixture was stirred for 4 h at room temperature. The solvent was then concentrated in vacuo and the residue was chromatographed on silica gel eluting with 10-100% ethyl acetate/hexane to provide 1.092 g (73%) of the desired product as a white solid.
