Procedure

A mixture of 7 g (18.9 mmol) of 3-[4-(N-BOC-amino)-phenylamino]-4-cyano-5-(ethoxy-methyleneamino)-pyrazole, 3.97 ml (37.78 mmol) of 3-chloro-aniline and 150 ml of ethanol is heated under reflux for 9 hours and stirred at room temperature for a further 15 hours. Filtering and washing the filter residue with cold ethanol yield the title compound; m.p. 229-234° C. (decomp.); FAB-MS: (M+H)+ =452.
