Reaction Steps

A mixture of 3-(5-bromo-2,3-dihydro-benzofuran-4-yl)-propylamine hydrochloride (100 mg), dimethylformamide (3 drops), triethylamine (0.35 ml) and dichloromethane (3 ml) was stirred in ice for 15 minutes. Cyclopropanecarbonyl chloride (36 mg) was added and stirring continued for 2 hours. The mixture was purified by chromatography on silica to give the title compound as a white solid (86 mg).
