Procedure
Utilizing a procedure analogous to that of Example 16(b), 671 mg (1.7 mmol) of 6-(5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-2 -naphthyloxy)naphthoyl chloride were reacted with 10 ml of aqueous ammonia (32%) to provide 560 mg (88%) of the expected amide, having a melting point of 175°-6° C.
