By substituting an equivalent amount of 3,4-dihydro-2-phenyl-2H-1,6-benzothiazocin-5(6H)-one for the 2,3-dihydro-2-phenyl-1,5-benzothiazepin-4-one in part (A) of Example 1 and carrying out the procedure of the Example, there is obtained N-(2-dimethylaminoethyl)-N-methyl-2phenyl-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexahydro-1,6-benzothiazocine-6-carboxamide hydrochloride.
