Following the procedure for the preparation of (4E)-2,3-dihydro-4H-chromen-4-one oxime but substituting 6-ethyl-5,6-dihydro-7H-cyclopenta[b]pyridin-7-one and making non-critical variations provided the title compound as a oil: 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ) 11.21, 8.45, 7.74, 7.29, 3.27, 3.11, 2.65, 1.84, 1.46, 0.85; HRMS (FAB) calcd for C10H12N2O+H 177.1028, found 177.1029.
