A mixture of 1.91 g (6.25 mmol) of the N,α-bis(4-fluorophenyl)-4-piperidinemethanamine and 0.45 g (7.9 mmol) of methyl isocyanate in 300 mL of CH2Cl2 was stirred at room temperature overnight. The solvent was removed in vacuo, and the residue was subjected to flash column chromatography (silica gel, gradiently eluted with 1 to 4% CH3OH in CH2Cl2) to give 1.54 g (68.6%) of white solid, mp 86°-90° C.
