3-(Pyrimidin-5-yloxy)-4,5-dihydroisoxazole III-54 was prepared in 3 steps from compound III-9 starting with the synthesis of 3-(pyridin-3-yloxy)-4,5-dihydroisoxazole III-53 from compound III-9 and 5-hydroxypyrimidine using Method 5. Compound III-53 is then deprotected using analogous conditions to Example 11 and then converted to desired product III-54 using the analogous procedure as Example 13 except that hydrocinnamaldehyde was used in the place of benzoyl chloride.
