trans-7-Chloro-2,3,4,14b-tetrahydro-1H-dibenzo[b,f]pyrido[1,2-d][1,4]oxazepine-1-amine maleate (10 mg, 0.02 mmol), 50 μL of pyridine, and 25 μL of acetic anhydride in 1 mL of CH2Cl2 were stirred for 18 h at room temperature. The mixture was washed with 5% aqueous sodium bicarbonate and H2O, dried (Na2SO4) and evaporated to give trans-N-(7-chloro-2,3,4,14b-tetrahydro-1H-dibenzo[b,f]pyrido[1,2-d][1,4]oxazepin1-yl)acetamide (9.0 mg, 65%). Data: (m/z)=343 (M+H)+.
