Guanidine carbonate (5 g) was added to a stirred solution of the product from step (i) (5.01 g) in MeOH (80 mL). The suspension was heated at 50° C. for 15 h and then the solvent evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was diluted with water (20 mL) and diethyl ether (20 mL). The resulting precipitate was collected by filtration and the solid was dried under vacuum to give the subtitle compound as an orange solid, 2.8 g.
