The mixture from Step 2 was dissolved in anhydrous MeOH (50 mL), sodium methoxide (25.6 mmol, 1.384 g) was added and then the suspension was stirred for 15 h at 60° C. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo, taken up in 2 N HCl and extracted with DCM.
