To a solution of (±)-N-(2-chloro-6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-pyrido[3,2-b]indolizin-8-yl)-4-fluoro-N-methyl-benzenesulfonamide (0.31 g) in 15 mL of CH2Cl2 cooled at 0° C. was added 0.15 mL of oxalyl chloride. After stirring for 30 min at 0° C., 6 mL of dry MeOH was added and stirring was continued for 20 min. The resulting solid was collected by filtration to give 0.28 g of the title compound as a white solid. (containing trace of MeOH).
