(R)-quinuclidin-3-yl 2-amino-2-phenylacetate (I30) (100 mg, 0.38 mmol) was dissolved in DCM (4 ml) and TEA (0.11 ml, 0.77 mmol). Benzenesulfonyl chloride (59 μl, 0.46 mmol) was added and the solution was stirred at RT for 1 hour. The volatiles were evaporated and the residue was purified by flash chromatography (DCM/MeOH/NH4OH=95/5/0.3) to obtain (R)-quinuclidin-3-yl 2-phenyl-2-(phenylsulfonamido)acetate (101 mg; 66% yield).
