To a solution of (R)-quinuclidin-3-yl 2-amino-2-phenylacetate (I30) (100 mg, 0.38 mmol) in DCM (4 ml) and triethylamine (0.08 ml, 0.58 mmol), was added benzoyl chloride (58.0 μl, 0.50 mmol). The reaction was stirred at RT for 1.5 hours, and then the volatiles were evaporated. The crude was purified by flash chromatography (DCM/MeOH/NH4OH=95/5/0.3) to obtain (R)-quinuclidin-3-yl 2-benzamido-2-phenylacetate (70 mg; 50% yield).
