To a solution of (5Z)-5-({1-[2,4-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzyl]piperidin-4-yl}methylidene)-4-[(2-hydroxy-2-methylpropyl)amino]-1,3-thiazol-2(5H)-one (898 mg) in ethanol (10 mL) was added a solution of fumaric acid (205 mg) in ethanol (5 mL), and the reaction mixture was stirred at 80° C. for 30 min. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the residue was recrystallized from ethanol/heptane to give the title compound (790 mg).
