Reaction Steps

1-[2,4-Bis(trifluoromethyl)benzyl]piperidine-4-carbaldehyde (200 mg) and 4-[(cyclopropylmethyl)amino]-1,3-thiazol-2(5H)-one (100 mg) were suspended in ethanol (3 mL), potassium tert-butoxide (66.1 mg) was added, and the reaction mixture was stirred at 80° C. for 30 min. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure, and the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate/hexane) and recrystallized from ethyl acetate/heptane to give the title compound (180 mg).
