To a solution of 1-amino-2-methylpropan-2-ol (2.61 g) in ethanol (30 mL) was added 4-thioxo-1,3-thiazolidin-2-one (3 g), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 6 hr. The reaction mixture was concentrated, and the residue was washed with ethanol to give the title compound (3.90 g).
