To a solution of (5Z)-5-({1-[2-chloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)benzyl]piperidin-4-yl}methylidene)-4-(prop-2-yn-1-ylamino)-1,3-thiazol-2(5H)-one (1.05 g) in ethanol (5 mL) was added a solution of fumaric acid (281 mg) in ethanol (15 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hr, and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was recrystallized from ethanol/heptane to give the title compound (1.10 g).
