Procedure

To a solution of (5Z)-5-({1-[2,4-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzyl]piperidin-4-yl}methylidene)-4-[(3-hydroxy-2,2-dimethylpropyl)amino]-1,3-thiazol-2(5H)-one (800 mg) in ethanol (5 mL) was added a solution of fumaric acid (181 mg) in ethanol (20 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hr, and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was recrystallized from ethanol/heptane to give the title compound (800 mg).
