To a solution of (5Z)-5-({1-[4-methoxy-2-(trifluoromethyl)benzyl]piperidin-4-yl}methylidene)-4-(prop-2-yn-1-ylamino)-1,3-thiazol-2(5H)-one (460 mg) in ethanol (2 mL) was added a solution of maleic acid (123 mg) in ethanol (5 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hr, and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was recrystallized from ethanol/heptane to give the title compound (393 mg).
