To a solution of trans-2-aminocyclohexanol (1.00 g) in ethanol (50 mL) was added 4-thioxo-1,3-thiazolidin-2-one (1.19 g), and the mixture was heated under reflux overnight. The reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature, the precipitate was removed, and the solvent of the filtrate was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (NH, tetrahydrofuran). The obtained powder was washed with ethyl acetate to give the title compound (554 mg).
