A reaction mixture of tert-butyl N-[(5Z)-5-({1-[2,4-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzyl]piperidin-4-yl}methylidene)-2-oxo-2,5-dihydro-1,3-thiazol-4-yl]glycinate (13.3 g) and 4N hydrogen chloride/ethyl acetate (80 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 2 hr. The reaction mixture was concentrated to give the title compound (12.8 g).
