Reaction Steps

To a solution of 4-thioxo-1,3-thiazolidin-2-one (2 g) in ethanol (35 mL) were added but-3-yn-2-amine hydrochloride (2.38 g) and triethylamine (3.14 mL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 4 hr. The reaction mixture was concentrated, water was added to the residue, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was washed with water and saturated brine, and dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was washed with ethyl acetate to give the title compound (1.42 g).
