Reaction Steps
To a solution of 2-amino-1,5-anhydro-2,4-dideoxy-threo-pentitol (527 mg) in ethanol (100 mL) was added 4-thioxo-1,3-thiazolidin-2-one (590 mg), and the mixture was heated under reflux for 15 hr. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure, and the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (NH, ethyl acetate) to give the title compound (700 mg).
