To a suspension of 3-(1,3-dioxo-1,3-dihydro-isoindol-2-yl)-thiopropionamide (2.13 g, 9.09 mmol) in acetone (30 mL) was added iodomethane (3.87 g, 1.71 mL, 27.3 mmol) at r. t. under a nitrogen atmosphere. The reaction mixture was stirred at RT for 48 h and the obtained suspension was filtered, washed with diethyl ether and dried in vacuo to give the product as light yellow solid (2.3 g, 6.11 mmol, 67.2%). MS: M=249.1 (M+H)+
